How to make a Gridfinity bin
- Pick the grid size – each unit is a 42 mm cell with a 41.5 mm bin footprint, so a 2×3 bin fills a 2×3 baseplate area exactly.

Do the bins stack on top of each other?
Yes – the top lip is the standard 4.4 mm stacking profile, so bins click onto each other and into any Gridfinity baseplate. You can turn the lip off if you do not care about stacking and want a slightly shorter bin.
What size are the magnet and screw holes?
Each grid unit gets four pockets for 6 mm × 2 mm magnets (6.5 mm diameter, 2.4 mm deep, 8 mm in from the unit edges) and an M3 screw hole through the base. Print one layer, drop the magnets in, and continue – they end up enclosed.
How tall should my bin be?
